I had a wonderful experience in my 240-hr Yoga Teacher Training at HYA. I knew I wanted to study in India, and this program was recommended to me by my teacher in California and is known for being one of the most organized and holistic training programs in Rishikesh. The teaching staff is extremely qualified, including some of the top teachers in Rishikesh, and diverse, with some Russian, Western, and Indian instructors, which is definitely a benefit to a YTT. There is a strong focus is on structural alignment of the asanas and teaching practice, which was exactly what I was looking for, but also classes on pranayam, mindfulness, and meditation. Overall, my experience in this teacher training brought me closer to my true self, and HYA still holds a dear place in my heart.
Sukshma Vyayam Yoga
Sukshma Vyayama Yoga has first been devised by Sri Swami Dhirendra Brahmacharya who was a personal yoga guru of Indira Gandhi. The Sukshma Vyayam system is built upon easy joint and muscle movements that increase flexibility of body and, subsequently, mind.
The popular Swami Yogananda Maharaj Babaji of Rishikesh teaches Sukshma Vyayam yoga at the Himalayan Yoga Academy.
