Philosophy

Indian philosophy is the basis of the entire Indian culture. Consisting of six darshans, or philosophical systems, and Buddhism, Indian philosophy is, probably, the most advanced philosophical system of all times.

So, Yoga is based on Yoga Sutras, which derrive from yoga darshan, which, in turn, is one of the six Indian philosophical systems.

One of the philosophies is Yoga. Codified by the great Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras, the philosophy of yoga is the foundation of the yogic science.

Branches of Philosophy:
Samkhya is one of six Hindu philosophies (darshans)
Samkhya denies divine, focuses on an individual's mind
Sankhya
Samkhya Darshana

I had the best time during the teacher training course, the stuff made sure we will get the best teachers in Rishikesh, with a variety of different styles, (which is important as a future teacher to get exposed to).

The course is super professional, I arrived to this course after practicing yoga for 10 years and I've learned a lot about anatomy, alinement, how to instruct a class (you get to instruct few times and it is very helpful and important), learning yoga philosophy, cleansing, pranayama, meditation and visiting temples - I had a great experience.

If you are looking for a yoga TTC that is professional with dignity Himalayan Yoga Academy is the place to go to.
